Red Meat

I've been hearing a lot of talk lately about red meat, mostly bad, and was just wondering how much red meat other people eat in the run of a week, and if it is actually as bad for you as what everyone says.

I eat about 1/3lb steak every night before going to bed. Red meat isn't bad for you but it is high in fat, so I would try to stick to lean cuts and don't overindulge. Moderation is key, just like in everything else.

what about long term effects? from what I have read/heard is that eating too much red meat can increase the chances of colon cancer.

as for me, I always buy extra lean beef.

So can breathing. If you stop breathing, doctors say you have a 100% chance to not get cancer of any type.

Seriously though just eat in moderation and make sure you eat lots of fiber and veggies, you'll be fine.

I also enjoy bearded-clam a few nights a week, but I'm not sure about the nutritional value or long term effects!

In order to accentuate the flavor and nutritional value, you should always de-beard clams before eating.

If you monitor your blood work routinely I see no reason to not eat red meat. Obviously if the blood results turn out in a negative way you should make changes.

Alligator is pretty good. Tastes like chicken.

I eat a couple of steaks a week. I buy my NY strip steak at Costco.
