nothing but fish
A lot of people in my gym swear by this, they go in a 4 week diet of nothing but fish as the main source of protein and get good results. This is my first week trying this and I am really seen some improvements on my lifts (maybe im pushing me self harder in the gym, but everything is clicking). How many of you have actually heard of this fish diet thing?

your body needs some of everything. carbs, protein, and fat (essential fatty acids). start eating only one of them, let alone fish to the exclusion of other proteins, and you won't be doing your body a favor. instead of your muscles getting their energy from the carbs you SHOULD be eating to rebuild themselves they'll go to the next quickest thing: your muscles. yes, your hard earned muscles you sweat in the gym to build up with essentially get eaten. screw those guys and eat well-balanced and healthy, bro. there's not such thing as a "the (one food) diet" that works. period. |

I don't really see anything wrong with eating fish as a main source of protein, but there certainly isn't anything special about it. Maybe people notice a difference in themselves because they don't get enough omega 3 FA's. Other than that it is silly to limit yourself.

I've never heard of that. I have to wonder how many people benefit from such a diet because they don't eat fish with a bun, a calorie-ladened dressing, and fries.
My thought is that if you're not injuring yourself and it's working for, do it. I think the idea of eating a lot of fish is dreamy. Make sure to throw some sashimi in there. ![]() Dammit, I think I'm going to give it a try. |

I had never really enjoyed seafood until I had went to an expensive seafood restaurant or had expensive, fresh fish cooked for me. In fact, I can't even eat the cheap stuff. I hear with fish, you usually get what you pay for, so I have a tendancy to agree with DOMS. |

Damn, the eel (not raw) was incredible! Too bad it came so late in the meal or I would have eaten a lot more of it. ![]() |

I eat a lot of fish that I catch. I eat more than is recommended. By that I mean that fish are polluted. Some more than others. It's a problem that is worse in some areas and again varies by species. Big fish that eat bottom fish near urban areas are the worst.

Frankhouser said he did this ...I can't remember for what period of time...maybe the last two weeks or so. I read it in an interview in one of the more popular mags...maybe muscle and fitness or flex.

Fish isn't that expensive.
I can get a bag of 15 or so large tilapia fillets for 11 bucks. |

Reason why I bring this up, is cuz last night I tried a bunch of sushi. "California roll," salmon, shrimp, tuna, and some roll.... Honestly, I dont see the big deal with it. I used only soy sauce to dip it in and I tried it with nothing...and it tastes like nothing. Not that it didnt taste good, but I dont get the craze I always hear for something that doesnt taste like much. Perhaps I am missing something? What else should I try? Oh and be detailistic as to what is what, cuz I wont know labels. |
