One key issue left out, is that while glycerine/glycerol (they are interchangable as a "sugar alcohol") while not impacting insulin to a large degree....converts easily to it's next metabolite......Triglyceride.....which in turn can convert easily to adipose tissue! (so glycerine is only one metabolite away from BF)
Bars DO NOT work for most...the inability to "lose weight" although I wish they had said "lose bodyfat", is something I see everyday!Many people claimed it was. “Bar-addicts” were noticing that it was harder for them to get into ketosis or to lose weight and immediately the cry went up that it was these “hi-tech” ingredients like glycerine and sugar alcohols that were disrupting the process.
Even more hysterical is when I see someone pick up a bar that formerly said two grams of Carbohydrates, make a noise and quickly throw it down now that it has 18-26grams! I have to explain that those "carbs" have always been there, look at the "sugars"...they are still the same...1-2 grams!

So then here's me, explaining it to them. Some days I get sick of explaining it. And what's weird is even the same company, like Keto, will publish the sugar alchohols in some flavors of their bars, but they still have only the true carbs labeled on other flavors! I have to explain to people that the carb counts are actually the same. They don't want the Choc Fudge Brownie bars cause it says 24g carbs but yet they'll want to eat the Strawberry Shortcake bars cause they say 3g carbs even though they are actually the SAME! What a pain! The companies all need to start getting consistent with their labeling!
