    Are there "bad" fruits/veggies?

Well as of right now and probably for awhile longer im bulking, but i was wondering if there are any fruits of vegetables to avoid when bulking or cutting. The fruits that i often eat are apples, pears, raisins, grapes, and sometimes some berries. For vegetables i eat corn, green beans, and cauliflower. I noticed that on the nutrition labels for like the pears and raisins they have a good ammount of sugar per serving. Are these fruits to stay away from?

Well...this is relative..I mean, all veggies and fruits are going to have vitamins and are technically not a bad food, however, and a big however at that....as in everything, there are varying degrees of 'good' Some fruits are higher in sugar than others, some have a lower fibre content and therefore an unfavourable insulin response. Same goes for veggies.

Generally if you're bulking, unless you're using a specific slow-burning bulking diet, you'd be able to eat even the 'less than desireable' fruits and veggies.

If you're on a cut, the best fruits and veggies to consume are sweet potatoes or yams, summer squash, apples, peaches, berries, avacados, grapefruit, all green leafy veggies...and my brains not working and I've forgotten stuff, lol.

Avoid corn, carrots, raisins, potatoes, grapes.

especially avoid these if going on a keto diet, they will throw most people out of ketosis even when consumed in small quantities...

What is a keto diet? Is that like totally doing away with sugars?

it's a very low carb diet which forces your body to use ketones (well most cells) for energy vs glycogen. It's not a very healthy diet but can be effective for losing body fat if done properly. It's not for long term use, and is not good for athletes involved in other types of sports...

The "bad" veggies are the ones hanging out around the crisper drinking booze and threatening the condiments.

Do not listen to those "fad diets" that have no validity. If your body does not recieve enough carbs it will convert your protein into a carb. Its an expensive way to lose a few pounds. Instead choose healthy slow burning carbs to fuel your body.

J'Bo...don't go to DHEA.....not at your age....unless you have had a hysterectomy....or are menopausal....stay away form it! Even at low dose....DHEA in women can cause hirtuism....irreversible deepening of the voice and facial hair!

    Yes. Serious.

Why do you think it's unhealthy?

(P.s. J'Bo, great explanation. No, really.)

    My God woman!

You work off such thin material. You really deserve a medal or some sort of record of achievement.

I already posted why they dont work.
#1 they are so short lived that once you start eating carbs you blow up like a balloon
    #2 you have no energy
#3 if your body is lacking in carbs it just converts your protein into a carb anyways, so why waste your money

    Need anymore reasons?

J'bo....on a keto diet your menu consist's mostly of fat...not protein...you are correct, too much protein will be converted....which is why you must eat 70-80% fat.

    Hmmm....

Before i go any further, let me ask you some questions:

    1. Have you ever done a keto diet?

    2. If so, are you positive you actually made it into ketosis?

    3. Have you actually read up on ketosis?
