carbs at 7pm for an AM workout person
i've been reading some posts/articles that suggest you eat the majority of your carbs right after your workout and that the last meal of the day should be pretty light on the carbs. i can see some merit in there.
but i work out in the morning on my way to work. don't exactly have time to sit down and consume mass quantities of carbs as i drive to work ya know? so i'm evenly spacing out my carbs through the day. my question is this: is: 3/4 brown rice 1/2 cup of beans 1 chicken breast/1 filet of tilapia 1 serving of green veggies ok for my 7pm meal? or would you say "noooo, too many carbs that late in the night"? i also have one more meal/snack around 10ish, strictly cottage cheese and peanut butter. |

If I trained in the AM, I'd be sure to have a carb-heavy meal at bedtime the night before so I'd be well glycogenated for AM. Have a quick light meal before you train - something as simple as toast and a whey shake could work - then train, then eat your first few meals with the majority of your carbs, if you're limiting them. If you're not, just eat them through the day as you are - but get in a protein-and-carb meal post workout regardless. |

my usual pre-workout meal is 1 whole egg, 3-4 whites 1/2 c oats 1 piece of multigrain toast 1 scoop of whey post w/o looks like 1 scoop of whey piece of fruit (apple/orange) maybe the post w/o meal is a little skimpy but i'll be eating again within two hours 1/4c oats 1 scoop of whey 6-8 walnut halves |

Why such high reps??? And why no RDLs, GHRs, GMs...?
What the heck is a squat press - a leg press? You may need to re-think your workouts... Where is the rest of your split? |

our gym is retarded and we're not allowed to use the free bar for deadlifts anymore i've been brainstorming for what to do in the meantime. been thinking about doing deadlifts with DBs or the smith machine.what are GHRs? i've been thinking about adding good mornings but those and the deads will probably end up on my lat/back day. i only start squatting about a month ago, so i've been slowly inching up the weight with high reps before i really rachet it up and lower the reps, squatting 135 used to be all i could do for 4 sets of ten and i was scared with even that much weight on my shoulders ![]() the rest of my split? i thought i had a pretty solid leg day here but... no dice? |

Find a new gym! Or do the DLs and if anyone questions you, tell them you're doing shrugs, but starting from the floor each rep. GHR = glute ham raise. |

GHR = glute ham raise. Planet probably doesn't have one.
Do Romanian deadlifts - you do those off the pins in the cage, don't reset between reps and they might not freak out like they would for off the floor deads. Just tell them you're doing rack pulls. |

Anyway, dumbbell deadlifts although not the same thing, certainly get the job done. If they dont like that, tell them to go shit in a hat. |

I'd suggest if you're cooking your oats you cook a little extra and have some after the workout. An apple isn't going to cut it. If you don't have the enthusiasm to eat some post workout carbs, drink em. Not just fruit though. As for the gym, how do they restrict you? Do they actually have someone come over and tell you off or something? Sounds crazy. B. |

PF is lame.
they call it the "judgment free zone". yet when golds was bought out and became PF they made all the power lifters quit. judgment free my ass. |

You can get some decent weights to do deads at home if you really needed to.
