Say you go real lite on some lite dressing....would that be ok while cutting as long as it fits in your calories and all that good stuff.

Look for fat-free salad dressings. I like cardini's fat-free caesar. It only has 40 cals for 2 tablespoons of dressing.

I do full-fat salad dressing while cutting. It's actually a very good idea to eat far with vegetables - helps you get the micronutrients out.

Try olive oil and balsamic with lots of salt. That's one of my favourites. Really nice with avocado, too - lots of healthy fats in both of these choices.

I use olive oil based dressings. Red wine olive oil, balsamic vinegerette, etc.

There is no need to limit cals on dressings if they are healthy.

You tryin' to brine yourself?

I'm with you, though. Olive oil and Balsamic is a great, simple dressing, and one can control the amount of acidity, etc. to their liking.

I'm also a big fan of adding black olives to the mix, hitting it a few times in the old blender....sort of like a muffaletta dressing.

And my all time favorite? Pesto!! You can pull ingredients out, or add new ones in as needed to fit your dietary needs.....and the stuff's really good.

I seriously love salt.

Flavourful, zero calories, dirt cheap, and it's awesome while cutting - helps keep water in your muscles.

Anything with zero calories that helps your muscles work while cutting is a good thing! ™

I agree with you on the values of salt...Buttttt, for those of us who do not currently have abs like those pictured in your avatar, the thought of further bloating and/or girth enhancement might not sound so appealing.

Here at my restaurant, we actually offer a "Poke-a-pile-of-pickles-plate" as one of our apps.

I just bought some garlic pepper, reg. salt and pepper, and some mustard. Might try a combo of the three, see what i can come up with. Thanks for the ideas!

I extra-salt my food when I'm cutting.

You only bloat when you're not used to it. Drink lots of water and eat potassium rich foods, and there's no problem at all.

Everything is okay as long as you are at a caloric defecit.
