Whey comes from milk so...if youre "lactovegetarian" its ok....which means you eat dairy and eggs but no meat. Vegan means you avoid animal products or by-products so it would be an easy no. It depends on how strict youre trying to be. There are a slew of divisions for vegetarian but vegan is pretty cut and dry.
