Meal Plan - Have a Look Mkay

Hey all. I can't sleep, so I thought I would post my new meal plan for everybody's amusement. I was off of exercising for a good while because of school, but I'm back at it now, and I hope to make real progress this time. This is what I've been eating the last couple days: I'm about 165, the calories may be high, I don't care if I get fatter, I just want to be sure I'm not being held back by a lack of calories.

Why no post workout protein shake? And what are you looking to accomplish by drinking 1 Tbsp of Gatorade?

Well the post workout meal includes whey with olive oil, in addition to real food. It's not a full blown shake like breakfast because I don't think I'll be home all the time after a workout(no blender access).
I've heard its good to have simple sugars after a workout for your glycogen and insulin spike or something like that, not totally clear about it but I've read that a few times before. =/

post workout you want to get in simple carbs and protein within a short window of time, to stop the catabolic effects of training

fats slow the absorption of proteins therefor wouldnt be beneficial post w/o

the insulin spike is effective at carrying aminos and other nutrient into the muscles as well as replenishing glycogen stores.

this is all most effective if done withing a few minutes(within 30) of your workouts end

i personally carry my post w/o shake with me in my bag
and just mix it up right there in the gym

alot of guys perfer a couple scoops of whey and some malto or waxy maize
however ive never tried either of those

i usually just do the whey (mine contains 2grams of sugar/scoop anyhow, oddly enough)

Thanks for the reply and the explanation. I'll be taking the oil out of my post w/o whey then, which is just fine with me.
