    Smile Post workout shake

Currently i'm using either myoplex or met rx mrps post workout with good results for the past 6 months or so but wanting to change to using my ON whey p-wo/easier/cheaper but not sure which is best for adding carbs to achieve the same results as the mrp..am i right in thinking myoplex/metrx carb sources are MALTODEXTRIN?? after reading up on dextrose id rather use an alternative as i dont want anything really sweet adding to the shake cus the flavours strong enough with the rocky road!! also which would produce the closest results to a mrp maltodextrin+whey or waixy maize starch? ive been googlin both everywhere but still so confused ARGH + amounts how much would you typically add on whey protein+malto/waxy pwo?? (scoops??)

any help would be greatly appreciated!!

a scoop of ON and any kind of sweetener might make a concoction that is quite hideious, i must agree...

you might want to invest in ON 100% natural, ive heard it is less flavorful

and alot of guys swear by waixy maze

would that be a better choice than maltodextrin? which is usually added to the mrps for the carbs is that waxy maize or? & the on flavours arent the problem for me its just i dont want any flavour adding to them & i know that dextrose is meant to be crazy sweet so i dont think id even manage a sip if i added it to my on haha i just want somethin to add some good carbs thats not gonna add any taste..mixability wise too which is better? i'll only be havin my shaker for it..cant use the blender by the gym anymore so mrps are a nono with that aswel which is why mixin my own that works well would be easier too! cookies n cream comin today so i wanna get orderin somethin to bulk it up fast haha

    Choice is up to you.

There is a lot of ways to approach post workout nutrition and is dependant on how your body reacts to it.

You could try Protein and Dextrose

Or Protein, skim milk, oats, and berries.

i dunno i really dont care for whey that much any more. i am loving the lba's though. no bloat, no gas, and nice lean gains.

ahh i used to put oats in my shake n it left me feeling too bloaty..is maltodextrose less sweet than dextrose as its a more complex version of it pretty much? iv heard it was tasteless..also..best place to buy cheap for it? i was checking bulkpowders.co.uk & myprotein & they seemed pretty reasonable but not sure if that effects the quality in comparison to pricey ones just to get a carb as it seems pretty cheap everywhere for malto/dex? & how many scoops protein is best for a shake? i was thinking 1 & a half with malto?

Sounds good, but how does this replace a protein shake...and how effective and safe is it?

Maybe you should start a thread on this, 2much.
