Trying to lose BF. Better to eat not as good or not eat at all?
Im trying to loose bodyfat however I work long shifts sitting at a computer like 10-12 hour shifts and sometimes I forget bringing my lunch.......anyways regardless my question is which would be better to tough it out and not eat at all or just really light like a boal of oats or is it still ok to eat pizza pops and other "junky" foods....Not any sugar but just some cheasy and not so good food for losing fat?
I know if you dont eat your body stores fat soo thats basically why i ask
I'd eat, though. a) you'll perform better at work, b) it's always better to eat clean but in a cut, i'm less strict about what i eat. i figure if i'm regularly in a deficit, eating one bad meal won't hurt me too much because i'll compensate for it with less calories as soon as i get back to my regular diet.
dont forget your lunch, simple as that. if you want to get the most out of your body and training you have to stick to your diet. if you forget your lunch one day, go ahead and eat, it shouldnt really make a difference....but im talking about once a month here. it sounds as if this is something that happens regularly, and if you having shit for lunch 2-3 days a week, it will take you a lot longer to reach your goals. you could even store some sealed nuts and canned tuna in your desk for when you do forget your food. not the most tasty of meals, but it will get you through the day while still fitting into your dietary requirements.
I'd opt for eating for general health and well being. Get some nutrients in your blood. Just track your cals and you are fine. Next time set a reminder to help you remember your lunch.
I just brought one of these to take to work with me Chris Powell's STAX Nutrition Lifestyle System the containers are color coded and measured so I eat the right sort of food and it even has a timmer on it that goes off and reminds me I should be eating so that I dont miss one of my meals or snacks. It also works as a cooler. So now I never miss a meal
Eat for gods sake! Don't make your body pay for what your consciousness chose to put in it. If youre willing to go through the nonsense of not eating, why not just pack some simple clean foods to give your body some type of nutrition? Do you think your body doesnt need you to feed it? Do you think you can make up for months or years of bad decisions in one month or two? Eat decent foods and keep the calories low if you really want to shed fat. And keep your good fat intake up. You don't want to harm your body. Remember you have thousands of processes that rely on your intake. Youre not on the earth just to lose or gain weight to be aesthetically pleasing. Don't be lazy. Suck it up and eat decent for a while. Geez
Its not that I dont eat but on that Cruise the food was just stuff I would never have eaten on a good day. Im a plain grilled chicken sort of girl and tuna lover. Everything on the boat was covered in spices or cream sauces and Ive worked way to hard to loose the plot over a salmon covered in nastie smelly sauce lol.
Ive punished my body long enough over the years and now I want to make sure when Im older I can make it up the stairs and my knees dont need replacing because I never took control.
Otherwise why are we all on this forum we are all looking for perfection of some sort.

There is a ton of easy things to eat at work. You can keep a tub of whey protein at ur desk and mix it with water when u need some nutrients. If you have a fridge you can keep some cottage cheese in it. You can also keep some canned tuna around. All of those options don't even need a microwave or any preparing.
I keep 5-8 cans of tuna in the fridge at the office. I try to remember to eat 2 cans a day... once around 9:30... then lunch... then another around 3 or so.
With breakfast and supper .. along with a few whey shakes I manage to eat what I need.
I am in the same situation. I have sat at the computer all day for the last 10 years. My arms and legs are big but im really putting on some love handles. I usually eat some fishsticks or something like that , they seem to hold me for a while.
