looking for ideas for a new, quick pre-work out snack/meal

for a while now I've gotten into the habit of coming home after work and making egg whites and oatmeal before heading to the gym but I'm just simply sick of the blandness of egg whites and oatmeal day after day... any suggestions on something quick, easy and efficient to eat before heading to the gym after work? thanks

Lean Beef Aminos....he's in love with them.

How about a Turkey sandwich on light wheat or sprouted bread with lettuce and tomato. And I don't eat bread and meat without mayo.

Homemade chili beans or stews or soups with lean meats.

a sandwich is sort of out of the question since that'd be what i had for my previous meal at lunch and i'm trying to cut some body fat so i don't want all the bread... i suppose i could make some chili and stews, keep them frozen and just pull them out and nuke them when i get home from work... the idea is simplicity... i just want to be able to walk in the door, get something in me real quick, maybe lay down for 15 minutes then head out... i don't mind spending a bit of time cooking dinner when i get home but right after work i just want to eat ASAP and lay down for a bit before i go train...

Fruit and a 1 scoop whey shake. That is what I do if I had waited to long after my last meal but want to work out and don't feel like postponing it.

Fruit, cottage cheese and Quaker caramel corn rice cakes (they're the only ones I like).

If youre on a cut you still dont HAVE to do super low carbs. How many carbs do you get now? You might need some extra! Do you do any refeeds?

Depends where you hold your fat. If you're a girl and you have fat legs, carbs are not your friends.

see i think it depends on the carb though to. like i dont do well with carbs from pastas, potatoes or what not. but fruit and veggies i am good to go. most of my carbs currently come from apples.

Not really. If it's a starch, it breaks down into glucose. Glucose stimulates an insulin response, and that's just what alpha-2 receptors need to make 'em all happy. Sadly.

If it's fruit, it breaks down into glucose and fructose.
Too much fructose isn't a good thing - but it's not likely to happen from a few apples a day.

I will cook the night before for my lunch and pre-workout meal the following day. I get home from work, nuke it, eat while using the computer for about half an hour, then hit the gym. I just ate a plateful of chicken alfredo rotoni.
