    Hoodia Gordonii and cutting

ok so I'm looking to shed some body fat, but my biggest problem is getting through the day on a calorie deficit... especially in the evening and over night! there's nothing worse for me than feeling hungry... I don't mean starving myself but I'm a guy who likes his food and it's hard for me to eat less than my maintenance number of calories... so my question is, how well does hoodia gordonii work at curbing appetite? especially at night... is it worth trying in order to better help me reach my goals?

I'm 5'11 and right now weigh approx. 190-195... I've put on quite a bit of muscle and body fat this year, but now I'm hoping to cut down to at least 180-185... 180 is the ideal weight I plan to achieve...

    any input is appreciated... thanks!

I've used it in the past and IMO it is the best supplement out their to aid weight loss. It seriously killed my appetite. Now I'd rather enjoy food and be hungry than never be hungry and just eat for work.

I know what you mean, I get the most intense cravings at night, too. I just ignore them now but hoodia definitely works.

I tried hoodia a while back and didn't notice anything. I should try the satiety.

To the OP, there are dietary strategies that help, too. PM me or post here how you are currently dieting and I'll offer up some suggestions if you like.

On November 21, 2004 CBS correspondent, Lesley Stahl reported on 60 Minutes that a strange little plant, Hoodia Gordonii, “... is a natural substance that literally takes your appetite away.” According to CBS, “Scientists say that it fools the brain by making you think you’re full, even if you’ve eaten just a morsel.”

Now, word of this amazing plant is spreading like wildfire across the country and taking the consumer market by storm. Many are calling the discovery of Hoodia Gordonii the breakthrough of the decade.

a typical days diet for me when i'm eating well looks something like this:

breakfast - bowl of fiber 1 or golean with skim or 1% milk

mid-morning snack/meal - protein shake with 1 scoop of whey protein powder, 1/2 cup of large flake oats and 1 tbsp of natural peanut butter

lunch - tuna or turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread (with half and half mayo) and lately i've been putting on a couple slices of low fat cheese and some honey mustard with a yogurt, apple or peach

afternoon snack/meal (pre-work out meal) - usually egg whites and oatmeal but i'm horribly sick of that combo and am looking for any other ideas fora pre-work out meal/snack

dinner - anything from fish or chicken and rice and broccoli, to steak and potatoes and asparagus, to whole wheat pasta or chili (this is my most variable meal and i almost always have a glass of skim or 1% milk at dinner)

bedtime snack - cup of 1% cottage cheese and 1 tbsp of peanut butter (this is where it's hard for me to go to bed or go all night without craving carbs)

that's a general template i stick to when i'm trying to eat well... my eating varies on how serious i am about losing body fat... i plan on starting a pretty strict new routine soon though and am pretty good at maintaining a strict routine when i'm serious about my goals...

Awesome, I tried ordering again today and it worked! which is good because Hoodia is stupid expensive at GNC... it was like $60 for 60 500mg capsules... the Satiety SRT capsules came to like $35 for 90 1000mg capsules...

    yeah... thats typical of gnc...

i think i paid nearly double price for ONwhey there once upon a time

there is a shop downtown thats pretty close to the prices online, if im in a pinch, or bodybuilding.com carries pretty much anything you can imagine, and their warehouses are sprinkled across north America for quick delivery

Hoodia didn't do anything for me.

But I suggest eating *tons* of salad greens and fibrous veggies. You can eat as many of those as you want.

It's the only way I can deal with cutting.

for those who say hoodiia didn't work for them, i'm wondering if it had to do with the content of hoodiia in the capsules they were taking? when i visited the health food store i saw some brands with capsules containing as little as 150mg... the ones advertised on this site and bodybuilding.com contain 1000mg per capsule... just a thought? i'm slowly starting my cut... just making smarter food choices and trying to see how i do with eating less... once my supps come in i'm going to start the deficit and cardio... it may seem weird to wait until my supps come in before i "officially" start, but just knowing that i'm starting a new supplement is often enough to kick up my motivation...
