eating out help

Ok, so me and my buddies typically go out on the weekends to chain restaurants, at least once. In my town, we have Chili's, TGI-Friday's, Applebee's, and Ruby Tuesday. They all have pretty good food and good prices for a college guy. However, now that I've gotten wise and finally gotten serious about lifting and nutrition, I'm worried that I won't be able to eat anything at these places.

So, my question to all you guys who are where I want to be....what can I eat at these places? For those of you who frequent them enough and have fave. dishes, let me know what they are. What's good for a guy like me trying to put on muscle?? Or is there anything? Is dessert out? what about after a meal too? anything would help, cuz i'm probably going to one tonight!

Oh, also, what about asian food??? We have a new chinese restaurant in town as well as a new vietnamese place. What do ya think???? Feedback really appreciated!

THANKS! you know how it is being a newbie!

when eating out don't worry about the protein sources it's the sides of starchy carbs that cause concern.

regarding asian food(s)...beware of the rices (super high GI/GR) and some sweet sauces as they are high in sugars as well...

Dumbest statement made in the Anabolic Zone for Nov

I always get either grilled chicken, lean steak or burger without the bun. For sides, I tell them to hold the potatoes and ask for steamed veggies. If they don't have steamed veggies I get a garden salad with Olive Oil and Vinegar for my dressing. Definately skip dessert and the appetizers. All those places have usually a good protein source but definately be careful on the sides.
