Why can't you bring your own food? How do you get to work? What do you do?

hey Built thanks for replying...the reason i dont take my own food is because i do not have my own personal transport (car).....i have to travel to work which is very hectic....i tried in the past to carry food but i experienced a messy spill in my bag when i arrived to work....as a result i dont carry food again....i only take breakfast to work and that is a simple sandwich....i can also make a sandwich for lunch but at my current weight i need to cut out excessive carbs and too much bread will only make me swell.....so that is why i resort to buying lunch.....the choices that are at my disposal to purchase are fresh green salad, bbq chicken, stew chicken, steam fish, potato salad, macaroni salad, sweet potatoes, dasheen, eddoes, green figs, macaroni pie, shepard's pie, and all sorts of beans......i dont buy anything to drink because i have access to a water cooler at my office.....i hope this can help man...thanks once again

Okay, well, first up - you CAN cut just fine on carbs - but as you've noticed, wheat makes a lot of people bloat (I'm one of 'em - wheat makes me hungry, too).

How about packing a ziplock baggie with romaine, another with chicken breast, pack up a tub of cottage cheese and some fruit, keep some tins of tuna at work and investigate in a waterproof collapsible cooler to travel with? Do you have a fridge at work? You can leave a jar of natty PB, some nuts and some good homemade salad dressing at work. That's what I do.

Oh, and you're welcome, man. <giggle>

Hey, NP.

Oh, one more I'll pass along - my husband keeps a case of canned soup at work. He brings cooked chicken breast with him in the morning; an easy meal is a can of soup with a chicken breast ripped up in it. Nuke and serve, nice big whack of protein, and it's fast.
