Alcohol isnt a carb, and doesnt actually need to be digested. A lot of it is absorbed in the stomach, then the rest in the jejunum, so it doesnt actually get to the main part of the large intestine.
After that its removed by a few different systems in the body (dehydrogenase, MEOS, peroxisomes in the liver). It can mess with metabolism and other things, like inhibiting gluconeogenesis which could result in lower blood sugar levels.
As well as getting you pissed as a fart, low blood sugar and your body using a lot of energy, vitamins, and minerals in order to remove the toxin from your body isnt a great post-workout state.
You need MORE vitamins, minerals, and energy after a workout - not less!
