Egg yolks

Is there anything wrong with eating 2-3 egg yolks a day? I've heard some people say that it has a lot of cholesterol. Just wanted to know because i luv eggs

no problem at all as long as it fits in to your daily macro count. Egg yolks are a good source of fat. I usually have 12 eggs throughout the day and usually keep the yolks with 3 of them

I personally take a Vince Gironda approach. Eggs are the greatest.

Hubby's over forty and he eats at least five whole eggs a day.

Dietary cholesterol contributes so little to your blood lipids it's almost not worth considering. If yours is too high, it's because your body is making too much - likely from excess carbohydrate consumption coupled with insulin resistance.

I thought I read on the AHA website that they recommend no more than X amount of eggs per day? Surely they would know as much as those here on the boards right?

Check out #7 here Common Misconceptions About Cholesterol : it sounds like my day... Chicken breast, lean turkey, tuna, etc. Am I limited in how many eggs I should have?

I really wouldn't worry.

Now i'm going to say this first, I'm not anyone important and this is not a recomendation! When i was on accutane (liver harsh drug) i had to get my blood lipids tested monthly, i was told to drop the fat in my diet, i didn't, i was consuming a ridiculous amount (8-12) eggs a day (i didn't even want to admit it i feel abit stupid) and my cholesterol didn't budge. But that's just me... certainlly not telling you to eat 12 eggs, but i wouldn't stress about eating 2-3.

2-3 yolks is ~15g fat? That's like an extra large glass of 3.3% milk, or half a slice of cake.

I'd personally go for the 15g which comes with vitamins and minerals.

EAT THE YOLKS.

half the protein in the egg? No but they do contain some. So if you eat the yolk you will be getting more protein than if you don't. But not double.

When someone says they had 4 egg whites, I assume 4 boiled eggs and white only...so I have always had a question about this: What do you with your egg yolks? I usually give it to my siblings or i guess garbage it.

I know that they contain the vitamins, minerals and fats for growth though.
