    Green Tea

What are some of the proven benefits of green tea? Anything negative on green tea? I really enjoy drinking it, just curious.

I love green tea as well. I was doing an energy drink, but I like the green tea better. No sugar drops!

I believe I read somwhere about the downregulation of androgen receptors with green tea, which could possibly prtialy explain asian people looking so young for so long. Id have to find the study to show you guys forvalidity, but I know I have read it before.

I still take it though for the antioxidant effects.

When your cells use oxygen they give off free radicals as part of the by product. A free radical to sum up is basically a molecule that is missing one of its electrons, making it unbalanced, so this makes it more positively charged I do believe. So it will attempt to steal the nearest electron from the closest cell, thus creating another unbalanced cell that attempts to get an electron from the closest cell which ....and the chain reaction cycle goes on until you get further breakdown of cells, etc. Basically an antioxidant is a molecule that can donate that electron and not become unstable, helping to stop that chain reaction. Thats an extremely rough and short way of explaining it, correct me if I'm wrong anyone.

sounds about right...It neutralizes the free radicals (the harmful electrons)
