    steak

Ok, so im changing up my diet a little bit for extra motivation and I will include steak in it, even tho im on a cutting diet I thik I can get away wiht steak to help me keep my sanity during this extra early summer cut....

in order to get about 40-50 grams of protein, how much "top round steak" (the leanest looking steak in the store)....in weight form would I have to consume...I weigh all my food and I am really detail oriented to get all my calories in the way I plan them so I don't under or over eat...the rest of my meals are fish, and they have nurtritional values on them so its easy...

can't your body only take in 30 g of protein at a time? The rest would be a waste, wouldn't it?

well, yes and no...most bodybuilders consume 40g of protein (and my interpretation of a bodybuilder is anyone who is making a change to his body by dieting and or lifting).....some of the pros consume up to 70g protein in a meal, but my research and knowlege tells me that 40g is the usual serving, im taking 40-50 just for the extra calories and such...

What magazine did you read this in? Was there an ad on the next page or two for whey with 32 grams per serving, etc.

i find steak is one of the only things i buy (besides veggies) that doesn't already have the nutritional value printed on the package... therefore i just always buy the biggest, tastiest, leanest looking cut i can find and if i'm on a cut only eat half of it and save the rest for the next day... now that i'm starting a bulk i'll probably just eat the whole thing though haha

QuestionGuy lol - you crack me up!

Programme lean sirloin into fitday. That way you can weigh out as much as you can afford to spend the calories.

This is what I programmed in for 100g raw sirloin (if you cook this to "rare" and re-weigh, it will usually weigh out to 80g)
    • Calories 162.3
    • Fat 8.4 g
    • Protein 20.4 g
