Nobody...NOBODY, regardless of age, gender, race etc NEEDS whey protein per se. Protein is protein, its a macro nutrient you need to get about 2g of P per LB of LBM max, IMO. If you can't reach that number using whole/real food then you need to supplement with Whey. I have to drink atleast one shake a day because i can't sit down and eat a chicken breast with a yam in the middle of my work day or during one of my classes.

Thats just a long winded way of saying, there is nothing wrong with supplementing with protein, no matter what your age.

I underatand about the 2grams/pound of LBM....but let's not look at that as a recommendation! Perhaps a lot less at 15.

Yan's point is that it is convient to supplement your food if you are not getting enough/

I agree...2g /lb might be a bit much for a 15 y/o, but like Yanick said...."protein shakes" are definitely not required. At your age, you should be focusing on getting good quality protein from whole foods in every meal! It's your time to grow, feed your body properly and you will

Like the other guys said, try to get most of your protein from real food like eggs, chicken breast, tuna etc. There is nothing wrong IMO to have 1 or 2 protein shakes a day at that age, just don’t make that your main protein source.

Also, eat some pies, cakes, and candy bars... Get them while your young, cause when you are older, all you are allowed to eat is protein
