I think I'm addicted to sugar and carbs
I'm trying to cut but I'm having a big problem with it. I'm used to eating a lot of pasta and pop (soda, whatever). I've been struggling to give it up. The last time I REALLY lost a substantial amount of bodyfat was when I worked as a caddy in the hot sun, carrying two bags for 18-27 holes drinking nothing but water. I didn't mind it that summer because I was so busy working I guess. It was so hot I was craving nothing but water. A few days ago I attempted my cutting phase and all I could think about were doughnuts and coca cola. Green vegetables, meat, eggs, peanut butter, etc just weren't enough. Any suggestions for how to curb my carb cravings? I've never in my life experienced an intense craving for doughnuts lol. Does your body adjust after a few days of this sort of diet? Does it get easier?
I guess part of the reason it's a struggle is because I'm not that over weight. I'm about 18 percent bodyfat. I know that I don't look THAT bad and that it's not that big of an issue but it's still something I want to do. |

What are your cutting macros? (total calories, grams protein, carb and fat). What is your cutting routine?
Wondering where to start? Confused? This will get you started.

A lack of DHA (from oily fish) in your diet can make you crave stuff (usually sweet comfort foods, but can include alcohol). If you live far North (or far South) of the equator, a lack of Vitamin D can also make you crave comfort foods.
I take 5,000iu/day of Vitamin D3 and I'm currently eating ~800g of salmon/week (tinned & smoked) and I'm feeling absolutely Woooooooooooooo-Hooooooooooooooo! ![]()

I didn't know that about the vitamin D. Is that because of serotonin?

I don't know if it's due to serotonin. The brain is full of Vitamin D Receptors (VDRs). See Vitamin D for more information.
