    2 week update.

I wanted to post an update for Built, and any others that have tried to help me. Although I have been dieting and lifting for 2 months now, I have only been tracking my gains/losses accurately for 2 weeks. My starting point was 265lbs 2 months ago. Here is my progress over the last 2 weeks.

    19MAR09 / 31MAR09

    weight: 245 / 237

    Neck: 17.75 / 17.25

    Bicep: 17.75 / 17.5

    Chest: 47.5 / 47.25

    Waist: 44.75 / 42.5

    Thigh: 25.5 / 25.25

    Calf: 17.4 / 17.25

So I have lost some size overall, but I feel much more solid and much less "flabby". Overall I am starting to look more solid, with my shoulders really starting to come out. The loss on my waist was the biggest change though, and I hope to keep that going.

My daily average caloric intake is:

    Calories 1,679
    Fat 55.4
    Saturated 22.0
    Polyunsaturated 8.1
    Monounsaturated 17.1
    Carbohydrate 115.4
    Dietary Fiber 19.7
    Protein 202.3
    Alcohol 0.0 0 0 %

with an average calorie balance of:
Calories Eaten (1,679 calories) Calories Burned (3,381 calories)

    My supplements consist of:
    Myoplex (MRP)
    Whey
    Multivitamin
    fish oil
    hydroxycut

Is this looking good Built? Or do I need to alter much? Since I am using the ABCD diet I will be entering a brief (2 week) bulk phase starting monday, and I will continue to track my calories there. Any advice on what my caloric intake should be during that time?

    How do you feel?

Your protein is sufficient, but these are some low assed calories.

    You feeling okay?

Truthfully it waivers from day to day. Somedays I have plenty of energy and do ok, and the next I can barely drag my ass out of bed.

However, since I am being honest here, I also see a direct correlation to what kind of telephone conversation I had with my wife the night before, so I can't really say whether it's the food or not.

I'd up the cals a bit. These are really low for "ordinary" (read: not something like a protein fast) cutting, you're dropping FAST.

I was actually aiming for closer to 2,000 cals per day, and my average sort of surprised me. I thought that's where I was. I will be more diligent next month in making sure I am taking in enough.

After reading the different threads here I am not sure that the hydroxycut does anything for the fat loss, but I will tell you this. It IS a damn good appetite suppressor. I got a little twitchy, but I sure wasn't hungry!

That's the best you can expect from a fatburner, for the most part.

I find ordinary ephedrine HCL plus caffeine works a charm. Ephedrine's easy to find here in Canada though.

    Sorry off topic a bit.
I've never taken fish oils, mostly because I'm not quite sure what they do.. Can anyone enlighten me?

    I think he's fine.
No offense, but assuming he is around avg height.
245 is pretty heavy...so losing 10lbs in 2 weeks probably isn't that big a deal.
Though I agree he should still probably up his cals just a bit.

He's fine - rapid drops like this happen from glycogen and water loss. He's lost a few pounds of fat, to be sure - when you're stilll aaahhh... "juicy", lol, you'll drop fat well even if you go VERY low in the calories.

It surely does slow down though.

"Juicy" is a great term for me lol.

A great bloody fat-ass would be better.

I am 6 foot, and 237 as of yesterday. At LEAST 30lbs of that needs to come off. In the military I was 200ish with around 9% BF. I haven't had a scan or calipers recently, but the generic tape test puts me at around 23% now.

    Tubby, tubby, tubby.

I will up my cals to around 2000 and try to slow it down a bit.

Crank the protein. Your fats could stand coming up a bit, too. You taking fish oil? 10g a day...

I've been taking about 6g a day. 10 just seems like sooo much! That is also some calorie intake that isn't on my fitday. So there are a few more cals.
