    Skinny-fat

OK, so here it goes. My body is a complete mess. I am in a really bad position right now, so I need help badly.

I am 6ft and 150lbs. I have very little muscle but I still have a little bit of fat(skinny-fat).

I have been running 2 miles a day and weight lifting for weeks now but it's not working at all. I haven't changed at all. I don't eat a lot(between 1200-1800 cals a day) not because I'm trying to but because I just don't like to eat all that much. I don't want to lose any weight but I still want to burn the fat. How do I not go into starvation mode when my maintenance level is so low? I have been trying so ****ing hard to just get rid of my fat so I can work on getting muscle, but it seems that no matter what, my body stays exactly the same. I've been avoiding doing a bulk because I don't want to put on more fat, but I guess I have no choice because nothing else is working. Please tell me, what do I do? I'm clueless.

How long have you been doing the running 2 miles a day and the lifting? Also, what is your lifting schedule like? Could you tell me more about how many sets you do as well as your reps? What type of food are you eating in the 1200-1800 calories? What is your bodyfat?

I myself was 105 lbs. at 24% bodyfat a few years ago. Like you, I didn't eat a lot, not because I didn't want to, but because I was uneducated and didn't know what I was doing. I was also running a few miles a day, also like you. It was not until I stopped doing all the running and started eating much more that I started to drop the fat and gain muscle. After experimenting for a while I have gained 15 lbs. while losing enough bodyfat to be at 10% currently.

My first suggestion to you would be to get your bodyfat taken. Next, stop running so much and put more focus on lifting. And most importantly, eat more. 1200 kcal is not even close enough to an amount you would need to keep your body from staying out of starvation mode. Your body is scared because you are not feeding it enough, and therefore it is holding onto fat.

That is all I can really say now, because I don't have enough info to say more. If I had your bodyfat, workout routines, and diet info that would be of extreme help.
