Thread: Poped the top off of the thing is it still good for a while

Mine from the pharmacy comes in a 10 week supply multidose vial. So for 10 weeks the top is off...that's almost three months. Nothing bad has happened to me yet.

Swab the top with alcohol every time prior to putting your draw needle in and you should be fine. If you do this, the inside stays sterile.

Figured it couldn't hurt to tell him again if he's asking if the vial will be oaky if the top is off.

Its only good for a week after you take the top off. Send whats leftover to me and I'll make sure its disposed of properly

We were all there once...Yes it will be fine swab the top let it dry and pin. You will use it all before it can go bad.

I've argued with my Walgreens pharmacist about this very topic. I used to get 10 ml vials of Watson T-cyp with my HRT prescription of 100 mg/weekly, and this year Walgreens refused to dispense me the 10 ml vials anymore. Pharmacist claimed that once you pin a vial it's only good for about a month so with my script I needed to have the much smaller 1 ml vials dispensed. I didn't win the argument and walked away with a bag full of the 1 ml vials instead.

i think he took the metal casing around the rubber off too

that sucks becuase drawing from 10) 1ml vials you are sure to lose a good amount of oil left in the vials rather than just one vial.

That's what I was thinking when I first read this.

sounds like he took off the crimped aluminum and left the rubber stopper in.. should be fine though.

I have done this before. I just drew up everything into my pins and chucked the vial. Surprisingly I remain heterosexual.
