ROFL! All you can do is offer a solution when someone bitches. The way I figure, if you are happy with yourself and you like your lifestyle, you don't have a weight problem. And yes, that's true if you're morbidly obese - it's all about how you feel about yourself.
However, if you are obese and you complain about it, you have two choices - fix it, or decide you love it. Either one's cool with me, and I remind my friends of this fact as appropriate.

For some reason my girl doesnt like to go to the gym..
She will ask me about arm workouts and such and Ill be like yeah why not come to the gym with me and she always says no lol.
She has some dumbbells and does at home work out videos kinda often.
I guess its whatever floats your boat.
My fiance was not comfortable at all going to the gym but she wanted to work out. So I built a weight room at home. You dont really need that much and our room is very small. Its only 7'x7'x7'. We love working out together and now we dont need to worry about a gym membership. Its something you could mention. But she has to want to do it.

I think part of it is just finding a sense of comfort in the gym. If you're not really sure what to do, its hard to go do it w/o feeling like everyone is staring at you or if you're doing it "wrong".
One approach to a "home gym" is to get a couple sets of resistance bands and work on form w/ just those.
I love the new golds they built here cause all the cardio stuff is upstairs(thats what my wife likes) and all the machines and free weights are down stairs. Hell we can go there and make a half a day of it.

yeah my girlfriend of 2 years has been slacking a bit, but she works full time and goes to college full time so she is super stressed. the other day she was complaining about her waiste size, she aint fat, but a little bigger than before. so i told her to come to the gym with me. oh man she got pissed that i offered, she told me it was basically agreeing she was fat! i keep my mouth shut now. i figure once she gets done with school she will return back to normal.

My wife is currently finishing up her Masters in Public Administration and I am finishing up my BA in Mathematics. Its not easy to find time, but the mirror does me justice. My wife ALWAYS leads me into questions about her weight. SURE IS EASIER WHEN YOUR MARRIED. I've always told the truth and dont stray from it. It upsets her, but i think the reason someone asks is to be consoled. Fuck that, give it to her straight. I in turn ask for the same thing. She is nice though. When i got up to almost 240lbs she didnt care. Now im back to 205lbs and she jumps my bones more now than ever.
I give her a hard time and it only makes things more tough when she watches me eat. I am back to a strict strict 2300 calories and i know she feels guilty when she eats like i do. She finally gave in two nights ago and said she needs dust off all the gym equipment i bought for her. I think being honest helped, but i also stopped nagging her and responding to her bating questions. I just walked away when she was trying to get me to answer such questions. Keep in mind this probably won't work for everyone, or anyone else. There is a reason i chose to marry her(no the kids were not the reason). She puts up with me and quite honestly dishes back what i deserve.

not likely... It's not impossible, I'm just saying the odds are against it. Girls that start gaining a little weight in their 20s rarely get back to where they were unless they get real serious and she doesn't sound real serious.
People general just put on weight as they get older.


The "freshman 10" is well-documented - I think the lack of freedom of time to get exercise, the need to stay parked at a desk studying all day, poor quality of sleep, possibly limited funds or access to decent quality food and the stress of it all is a great "perfect storm" of inactivity, lack of good recovery and cortisol to impact your weight. Once that environment is gone, IF they are paying attention, most people have the freedom in their day to structure in some exercise and better eating.

I think a lot of people need to discover how "metabolism" works and I hope that when they discover that as you get older, shit don't work like it used to and you have to work harder & keep a better diet, or yep, you do end up w/ a big ol' ass. That's usually the point people start looking for the "magic pill" to fix everything. It just doesn't work like that.
