Extra food is all. She needs a surplus of calories, not a supplement.

as everyone is saying its all about calories, our new Complete Protein Rx would be a great "supplement" to add to any diet for extra "good" calories, it is a blend of 10 protein sources.

Complete Protein Rx expected to be available late June.

Ok here is something I don't understand about your post.

She wants to gain "Normal weight."

Are you implying she wants to gain fat? She either needs to add muscle or fat.
There is no other type of weight you can gain except for water which is only temporary.

Also, maybe she has an overactive thyroid or an underactive spleen. Has she been to the doctor about this ? This may be a health related issue if excess calories are not doing it for her.

Ok, here is the thing about this.... There are certain foods that can make anybody gain weight. One of them is ice cream. I don't care who you are, if you eat ice cream every day, you are going to gain weight. The issue is, what type of weight are you trying to gain? Because anyone who says they can't gain fat isn't trying hard enough and not eating enough food.

Yes I agree. Creatine is safe in the recommended doses.

The only time it gets nasty is when people act like idiots and start mega dosing the stuff. My friend (a male) thought it would be a good idea to double the dose (10-20g DAILY for 2-3 months) and ended up in the hospital with kidney problems. With that being said, the moron needs to remind himself that there is a reason why they have a recommended dose.

I wouldn't recommend a weight-gainer or a protein powder - those may actually fill her up too much and keep her from eating enough. I use protein shakes to kill appetite when I'm cutting.

Have her enter the food she eats and report back with the total calories, and grams protein carb and fat.
Wondering where to start? Confused? "Homework 1" will get you started.

    Okay, have her thyroid checked.

Out of curiosity, how do you know how many calories she eats daily?

List it. List an average day's intake for her. Meal by meal.

This is so true. I talk to many people on the phone and I constantly tell them to read the directions and do research before taking things, regardless of what it is.

I am sure this is a big issue for her, but a lot of us wish we could eat like that and not have to worry so much. I hope she can get to where she wants to be.

Need more specific details please. Height, weight. Age. What does she eat, specifically.

When was the last time she had a complete physical? Without knowing much of anything about this woman, gonna guess has a high metabolism, possibly low estrogen, potential thyroid issue. Does she experience any other sides like dry skin or thinning hair?

If she's not gaining at 3,000 calories, she needs more than that. Calorie surplus = weight gain. Supplement this supplement that, everyone wants to rush to the latest tub of crap they're selling on tv and expect it to change their lives. Supplements are just that, they SUPPLEMENT your diet. Like Built said, lets see what she's eating day to day and go from there. And if you don't listen to anyone else, listen to Built, she knows her shit and she's going to steer you in the right direction.

Look, stop with the attitude. We are trying to help.

How am I supposed to know you mean "fat" when you say she wants to gain normal weight. Most people don't consider that normal weight.

There is so much that could be wrong here if somebody is underweight and consuming 3,000 - 3,500 calories daily. That would be a dream for me and I weigh 208lbs, and I still have to keep my calories at 2,500 per day to avoid gaining fat.

Does she experience diarrhea? Does she sweat a lot? What other blood work has she had done? Is her liver over active?

You are treating this like it's normal for somebody who is underweight to be able to devour everything in sight and not gain an ounce.

This sounds more like a medical issue versus a food/supplemental issue. There are cases when people have ridiculously fast metabolisms, but in most cases it is not healthy.

she did full liver panel, blood work, thyroid panel, estrogen level, full kidney functions

liver & kidney were all ok and fine...
estrogen level is within the normal range
blood work ok but she has low hemoglobin
here thyroid hormones were too high (much higher than normal)...

Which "thyroid" hormones - TSH? FT4? FT3? Post up some numbers, okay, let's try to get to the bottom of this.

I mean hey, if her doctors had been able to sort this out, you wouldn't be asking here, right? Give us the information we need so we can try to help. Just being told her hormones are "fine" doesn't tell us anything.

As an aside, underweight and anemic is highly indicative of celiac. Has she been checked for that? Celiac often goes along with other autoimmune disorders, such as Hashimoto's and type I diabetes. My sister has this, it's something I'm unfortunately way too familiar with.

Please make SURE the doctor tests her for celiac (gluten intolerance, ie wheat). Okay?
