So, a few times this conversation, well truly outbrust from my daughter is, "mom your calves look fat". This time, was just a while ago, and I have been pretty diligent with my workouts and making amends toward gaining strength with them. I think they're big and I want more ability with them, (higher weight) but would like to lessen their size.
Q: Is there a way to lessen their size, but increase their ability of lifting higher weights?
Training is everything. The peach was once a bitter almond; cauliflower is nothing but Cabbage with a College Education.
Genetics. Some people have big 'uns, some have little 'uns. Calves get worked all day, every day so if they are naturally big you may be stuck with big calves.
Could be you tend to hold water in them too. I've got big ol' calves genetically but they are a beeeyotch to cut up. And I'm talking even when I'm at my lowest competition bodyfat ever.
