Yeah, that's 315. Why ditch the gloves though? I did 390x2 without them once - my hands were peeling for days, it wasn't fun.
That's definitely my basement. I would've added another plate, but we don't have more 45s (yet) and you wouldn't be able to see anything smaller so there'd be no point really.
Gloves aren't for grip strength, straps are. Gloves (to me) are for preventing your skin from sliding off, which is what happened to me when I was deadlifting. But I still completed the sets though...
I'm thinking about doing it without gloves either, but I'm not looking forward to extremely compressed and discolored skin. Oh well, it's not like I'm a hand model or something.
also, how can you lift with a watch/no shoes on? Whenever I lift I hve to wear my workout shorts, my workout wifebeater, my lifting gloves, wrist supporters (my wrists tweak easily), my workout socks, workout shoes, and if it's cold in my basement a workout hoody and workout sweats. All those are reserved for when I lift
Well I work out in my basement, so if anyone can see what I'm wearing, that's a little creepy.
All I do is wear a T and those shorts every time. I usually wear gloves but I think I'm going to try to stop (it's not going to be pleasant come deadlifting day though).
I'm definitely not looking forward to gloveless deadlifts. My hands are going to need to be wrapped in order not to fall apart. I'm going to keep doing them with the DOH grip and see how much I can do like that (gloveless DOH). I'm sure it'll drop, but then in a few months I'll do a mixed grip deadlift again with gloves and hopefully be surprised at the increase. I wonder if I can still pull 405 without gloves.
