I never had one, but my doctor offered me one. It seemed like just a temporary solution for the problem. I think Tesla has one not too long ago. I can't remember...

Ive been putting it off for 6 months. Temporary relief sounds gret to me.

Yeah, I guess so. I waited for my shoulder to heal forever and it still has some problems. I still may end up getting one at some point.

Shot in the shoulder does not hurt .I had 4 in a 5 year period they worked great for inflamation the shot does not hurt but your shoulder might be sore for 2 days. After the shot start doing rotator cuff warm ups before every work out.I got my shoulder repaired on jan 5th this year so i got an xtra 5 years with the shots .I just like going heavy so i got it fixed, it started hurting when i would do 115 dumbell flat bench presses. Its worth a try

i've had them in my left elbow and both wrists. it was moderately painful. really sore that night, better the next day and then felt great after that. they work for me for about 4 months. the pain (tendonitis) always comes back though. it's my fault. the doc said if i would quit lifting, it would totally heal, but i can't do that.

Temporary fix, but it will help in the short term. I had many shots playing football years ago, and they did not work as well over time. Just put off the need for surgery. Not much of an issue now, because most doctors will limit the number of injections.

Take a couple of pain pills or smoke something silly. Ya it hurts I got em playing ball in my lower back. Don't push your self. I ur having to take shots to workout lay off the weights. Stretch like crazy and If u do lift use ice after every lift. Pain is one thing but injury could be a long term problem. Good luck and be careful

its like magic. Incredible pain to absolutely nothing in 3 days...........If you keep lifting heavy though, the pain will be back in 3 - 4 months.

Totally worth it. The shot doesnt hurt if the doctor knows what he's doing, but the are will be a lot sorer (sp) for a day or so.

I came close to having one but wanted to avoid it at all cost since it weakens the muscle. I had to take time off and let it heal it sucked to lose the time in the gym but it helped me avoid the shot and surgery, how bad is your injury?

First of all, thanks for your input guys.

This is the second injury to my right shouder in two years. First time rehab exercises and a break from benching healed it. This time I've tried everthing and its always there nomatter what, even if I stop lifting.
I benched yesterday and it aggrivated it again to the point where I cant lift much. I cant wait to try this cortisone, the Doc is confident it will work.

Cortisone shots only weaken tissue when overused. Conservatively, three is about the limit.

    I agree.

Had them in both shoulders. 3 total on each side. 1st one helped alot 2nd one didnt mask the pain for long 3rd one hurt like hell and didnt work at all after that it was time for surgery.

Cortisone is one of the worst things you can put in your body. It is a catabolic hormone and causes muscle tissue breakdown. Seems to be the opposite of what everybody on this site is trying to accomplish.

I had to get one in the top of my foot. They used some type of spray to numb the area so it was almost painless.....except the nerve he hit

Everyone has told me, including the doctor, that it isn't permanent but I haven't had any problems in the 15 months since the shot.

I got a problem with my ac joint in my right shoulder. Had 2 shots in one month last april and still have pain. Had one in my left elbow 5 yrs ago and just recently the pain came back, so I believe it just depends on the injury. The shot itself wasn't painful, but none of mine had to go to deep.

I'm gonna do a chest workout this morning right before I get the shot so my injury becomes inflamed and they can see it on the ultra-sound easier. I'm a bit worried the might stick it in the wrong spot.
    I'll keeps yas posted, thanks.

Cortisone shot was painless. Local anesthetic stung a little more than the cortisone and that was only slightly more painfull than pinning gears.
Apparently tomorrow is when it begins to hurt as the anesthetic wears off.

Won't know how affective it was until a few days.

Well its been 24 hrs after the shot and I'm in no pain whatsover. I feel like I could lift today but I'll train legs instead just to make sure the cortisone does its job.

I'll train shoulders tomorrow I suppose. I wont know for sure how effective the shot was until I train chest but so far so good, its great be without pain... finally.

I got instant relief the minute the costisone was injected and it's been the same ever since. Trained my back/bic yesterday and didn't experience any pain whatsover. So far I'm really happy with the result.

I'll know for sure on Monday when I train chest.
