i think it's good to take one. it can't hurt. your body uses what it needs and expells the rest.

there isn't enough iron, or anything else, in a multi vitamin to "build up" and become toxic. the amounts of compounds in one-a-day vits is just enough to meet the minumum daily requirement.

atleast that's what i've been told.

Just for general health it is good to take one. Cant hurt you, and can only help, they are relatively cheap, and good for an overall boost of you immune system. That sells me.

I prefer to take something like spirullina rather than a multivitamin......I feel a difference when I take it - energy like having a cup of coffee in the morning. The soils that grow our food have been depleted via mass production, heavy herbicide, pesticide, and fertilizer usage. Plus the varieties of produce which are great for stores (long shelf life, looks) can be very low in nutritional value, plus are picked before they are ripe in order to get to market, resulting in even further loss of nutrients. Getting something from the ocean, like spirullina, where some of these microminerals/nutrients still exist seems like a good idea.
