    i need something for acne

title says it all. My face has never been bad, but my back and chest are out of control since i've been working out/ eating cleaner but way more protein. I can't go to a doctor without paying money I dont have. Looking for something cheap and effective.

i have a special ointment, its all natural and 100% protein...jk..the only real advise i know is dont use alot of soap because it dries the skin out to much and skin says make more oil and the problem continues.i once used just really warm not quite hot water several times a day and had good results.chemicals are not good.

Two things (at least for me):

Limit diet soda, and keep your blood sugar relatively stable. The chemicals in diet soda I find cause skin problems if I drink any more than 1 every few days. As for the blood sugar thing, I've found that if I'm eating a ton of carbs all the time and having some wild swings, I'll break out. Ever since I realized those two things, I've had significantly better skin.

As for accutane, it's serious stuff, but holy crap does it work. I'm one of the lucky ones that had absolutely no side effects other than chapped lips. When I was done with it, my skin was 100% clear, and subsequently I never get anywhere near the amount I used to get (but that probably coincides with my original two things as well).

A couple natural remedies that have worked for me. For one getting regular sun exposure will help immensely. Also bathing in or soaking the affected area in salt water helps alot. Ever notice if you spend some time at the beach your skin clears up? Perfect combo of sun and salt can do wonders for your skin.

For serious breakouts antibacterial dish soap works great (srs). It contains alcohol though so it can dry out your skin, I dilute the soap with some water and then immediately use lotion afterwards and rarely have issues with dryness. Euroking has something that's called "bodybuilder's bodywash" that has a lot of positive feedback. It's all natural with some vitamins and herbs that are supposed to be antibacterial/antifungal.

If you need to take it a step further ask your doctor for some samples of a topical antibiotic, duac gel worked very well for me as a teen and didn't dry out my skin. Accutane should be the absolute last resort because it can come with some serious side effects. If you've seen the commercials in the past few years they've begun linking the use of accutane with crohn's disease and IBS. Crohn's can become very serious and I know a girl who had to have part of her intestine removed because of it. Also depression can be a problem for some. Many guys here have found that using a much lower dose than usually prescribed still works well and reduces the side effects signifigantly. If it really comes down to that you can get generic accutane (isotretinoin) from a number of places. I believe the lowest effective dose is 20mg a day run for 4-5 months or until acne clears up. I would research that thoroughly before you do it though because I'm not 100% sure, and only after you've tried all the above methods first.
