Common painkillers block supposed benefits of SSRI antidepressants
Common painkillers block supposed benefits of SSRI antidepressants, says research by PF Louis
(NaturalNews) Some mainstream articles have reported on how non-prescription pain killers block the benefits of prescription SSRI anti-depressants. This information could be a Big Pharma ruse to deflect legal liability of their lethal side effects. Suicidal and homicidal side effects continue among those using anti-depressants. But do SSRIs even work?
Benefits to Risk Ratio
Back in May of 2000, the BBC News Online reported a clinical study of a drug similar to Eli Lily's Prozac that produced occasional suicidal tendencies. While Eli Lily denied any links of Prozac to suicide or homicide, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) coped with lawsuits regarding Paxil after recommending it for adolescents.
Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft and Seroxat, are SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). Despite leaked information of side effects, SSRI sales have tripled. Studies indicate that many stop taking SSRIs because they are simply not working or they were alarmed by the side effects.
So how much science is involved with regulating serotonin when not much is known about serotonin to begin with? Even the AMA concedes that the difference between SSRI depression relief and placebos is insignificant. In other words, SSRI depression relief is virtually the same as what placebos produce.
It's been revealed that companies cranking out the clinical trial study reports for Big Pharma have been hiding the side effects from the FDA. That doesn't seem to matter much. Despite this information, the FDA is still not convinced SSRI side effects outweigh their efficacy.
It's obvious that the risks outweigh the benefits, as is the case with most pharmaceuticals known to have produced over 100,000 deaths annually.
How to Really Handle Depression
The notion that one pill can cure depression for everyone is absurd. One size does not fit all. Dr. Mark Hyman is one of few physicians who are aware of Big Pharma lies.
He recommends some basic depression remedies that cure without side effects beginning with diet, naturally. Less sugar intake while avoiding high fructose corn syrup and aspartame along with eliminating MSG is an excellent start. That means eliminating those comfort foods as solutions for depression.
Checking for mercury toxicity and detoxing mercury if necessary is another solution. Hypothyroidism can be a factor. Make sure your thyroid is functioning with adequate iodine nutrition. Vitamin D3 and the the B vitamins are important, and so are omega-3 rich nutrient foods or supplements. Adding exercise helps too.
