Anyone ever dislocated a rib on your vertebra?

Has anyone ever done this? I was doing seated smith machine shoulder presses the other day and felt something weird in my back. I kinda pushed through it and finished. I knew something was up when I couldn't move my neck much a little later. I went to the Chiropractor today and he took a xray and one of my ribs was sitting on top of my vertebra. He set it back but it still hurts like a bith.

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else before? And how long did it keep you out?

Fuck no. But luckily I know people so they felt bad for me and gave me some. But I just went to the Chiropractor. I'm pretty sure he can't prescribe anything. I'm not sure though. It feels a little better today but still hurts like a mother fucker. I might have to go to a real doc if it keeps up.

cracked one on leg presses once but never dislocated...couldn't run or even walk fast for about a week and healed in about 2-3 weeks. Did the chiro give you a timeframe for healing?

No I'm gonna pick his brain apart when I go back in today. It seemed like it was common and wasn't that big of a deal. Only thing he told me yesterday was to not workout then.

I cracked L3 vertebra on leg press with 1200lb when my knee gave out. I was out of the gym for 6 months.

Chiro can't prescribe pain medications otherwise I'd be a junkie. My buddy is a chiro and he would hook me up.

I would go see a real doc if it were me, especially an orthopedic doc. There are some legitimate chiropractors but many are quacks. Some claim they can heal the flu w spinal adjustments.
