

So... last Saturday I hit 275x1 for a single on the bench.
Late in the workout, however, I felt something horrible in my neck and kind of lost mobility. I'm an asshole and decided to tough out cable flies before calling it quits.
So I wake up on Sunday and it feels like shit. Did some curls and push ups throughout the week because I'm addicted to exercise and couldn't take the full week off but basically have now taken a full week off.
Thought for sure because I've been sleeping and resting all weekend that I'd feel better today.
Hasn't really been the case.
What's going on here? I'm scared because the other day I google searched and saw "surgery," "herniated/bulging disc," and other things that I don't have time for in my life right now.

ah i get that once a year when i try and go for a new heavy max on bench. you really just gotta lay off it until it heals up. its either pinched or pulled muscle. when i get it bad my neck is immobile and even turning my head to drive is extremely painful. I usually rest a lot and up my protein intake and it heals in 2-3 weeks. it sucks not being able to go to the gym during that time but if u hit then bench too soon it will just be as bad again.
