    Rotary Cuff Injury

Basically 12 weeks ago i tore my rotary cuff in the gym..was out the gym for 10/11 weeks and rested it the whole time

Went back to the gym on monday and felt it again!

Iv been trying to do a few exercises to strengthen the muscle but it doesnt seem to be helping!

Is there anything i can take/do to stop the pain and progress with my training?

Iv already lost alot of strength, iv been lucky to hold my size but i cant see me holding it for much longer! Im getting fking depressed not being able to lift heavy as i already have another cycle planned!

Iv read about cortisone injections, but they seem like a pain in the ass to get!

    Any help is appreciated, cheers!

A cortisone shot only controls the pain. It might not hurt afterwards, but you could end up making the injury worse. It won't heal on its own if it's really torn. Best thing to do right now would be to try and find ways to work around it (exercises that don't cause pain). Surgery might be the only solution to get back to heavy lifting.

Thanks for the reply, i managed to get scheduled in with a pyhsio in 6 weeks. Il take it easy until then and will also see if the physio can help.

If not il get referred to an orthopedic surgeon

had rotator cuff surgery, and about 8 mos of rehab. IT WAS A HUGE DEAL. hope yours is different. 10 years later that shoulder is stronger than the one that i had no surgery on though! went to a sports medicine doctor and he completly fixed the problem. I did get the cortisone shots for a while but it was just useless after a while.
