Strange soreness in my achilles tendon

Right foot. Im pretty sure its the achilles tendon, but its odd. It feels like its right to the left of the tendon. Hurts whenever i put weight on it. Havent done any calf work since last tuesday, and it just started hurting tonight.

I was planning on doing either deads or squats tomorrow, and was curious what anyone thought about this. Could it aggrivate whatever i did? Any idea what exactly i injured?

Sounds like an achilles bursitis rather than a tendonitiis. There is a small sack of fluid (bursa) that lies between the achilles tendon and the base of the tibial bone and upper posterior calcaneous, which is probably why the paiN is off- center.

Listin to Prince. Also, take some antiinflammatories and do heel stretches before embarking on future activity that may exacerbate it (like the squats).

What did you do to aggravate it? If it is indeed bursitis, you are not going to be a happy camper, that stuff doesn't go away too easily. I had it in my shoulder and the only thing that made it feel better was when I would use a TENS device on it. So then, I would just go thru periods when I would take a week off, start working out again, and then it would come back. Eventually I just gave up on it and worked thru the pain. I have no issues with it now.

If sense were common, everyone would have it.

Strange... it felt fine the day after i posted this, so i did squats. Felt fine, but later that night and the next day it hurt again.

I ignored it, and it went away over the next couple days. Ive squatted twice since then and it hasnt come back.
