Exclamation stomach flu. HELP!

today i contracted some sort of stomach flu. it has been awful. puking and loose stools all day. i havent been able to hold anything down, not even water. The last meal i had that i actually held down was over 12 hours ago. What should i do? and another question, im worried about loosing lean mass. Will i gain it back rather quickly after i get better or will it take a little while? any input would be great. thanx in advance.

I find that when I get a stomach virus as bad as yours it's best to eat very little, just drink liquids, and of course rest as much as possible.

As far as losing LBM, you will lose mostly water weight and glycogen, depending on how long your're sick maybe a little bit of LBM.

You will regain anything lost within 1-2 weeks, just focus on getting well, forget about everything else there is nothing you can do until you are of good health.

I know how you feel man. I just got over the puking last night but still haven't gotten my appetite fully back.

I thought about the same things you have and decided there was nothing I could do about it. Just get some rest and hit the weights hard when you are well.

yeah, it really sux. i guess the only good thing about the stomach flu is that it usually doesnt last for more than a day or two. my appetite is slowly coming back and i plan on hitting the gym tomorow.

This is kind of a tangent, but I had the "24-hour stomach flu," or so I thought, about two weeks ago. I spoke with some doctors and my friend who is a health inspector for the City of Chicago, and the consensus was that the "24-hour flu" is food poisoning of some sort. If you're just puking, and you don't have chills, aches, etc., it's probably not the flu.
