Why do we feel tired when we donīt do practically nothing ?

Usually I stay studying for a long time but I canīt undestand why I feel tired just by sitting in the chair.. Is there a way to prevent this ? Stretching is the only option ? Thanks

its due to lack of oxygen to the brain. as suggested, stretching, staying hydrated and getting fresh air and walking around every so often while in a "seated" position greatly helps.

hmmm...i tried walking around in a seated position..but it hurt my quads and everyone kept asking me if i had to go to the bathroom really bad.

one of the most effective ways of getting oxygen to the brain is through the pumping action caused by muscle contraction.....that is why moving is effective.

those guards at Buckingham palace in England who stand at attention all the time without moving...they actually have to isometrically contract and relax their leg muscles to keep pumping oxygen to their brain so they won't pass out. (just in case you are ever on "who wants to be a millionaire" and they ask)

My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

When one door closes another door opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the ones which open for us.
