Male nipple discharge

Ok....ok...now before anybody laughs about this, I'm a little concerned about a bit of clear discharge that I'm noticing occasionally coming from both of my nipples. It isn't like...well, like common or anything like that, and from what I gather, this happens to guys every now and then, even if there isn't a baby around crying....

I just scheduled appointments for all of those tests I should get done since I'm gonna hit 50 this summer, but the last time I noticed, there was a slight amount of blood mixing with some clear fluid from one nipple - enough that I had to get a tissue and apply a little pressure. It could have just been scratched a little or something like that, but the recent discharge from both of them just seems a little odd to me.

Uh...now I'm not someone who like plays with my nips...and..well, even the blowup doll doesn't bother with them...I'm just wondering if anyone knows much about this and if it's common or affected by lifting or anything like that.

I don't have any piercings or other nonsense in my nips

Using any androgens?

But when you disarm them, you at once offend them by showing that you distrust them, either for cowardice or for want of loyalty, and either of these opinions breeds hatred against you.

Hey Kb, long time no see buddy....how ya doin?

i had the same thing. i asked 3 different docs about it and they didnt know what caused it. the clear liquid is prolactin, and the docs said many things can cause discharge in males (supps, diet...)

they all didnt know too much about it, other than its not something to worry about. as for the blood, if thats coming from your nips, i'd get that checked out.

Bloody nipple discharge is always a concern.

In females, nipple discharge is benign 90% of the time.

In men, it is more worrisome for malignancy. WIth that said, the fact that it is coming from both sides usually means a more benign etiology.

The doc may want to check your prolactin level, try to rule out primary prolactinoma...... and be honest with him/her about your supplements, some of which can induce galactorrhea.

There are prescription medicines that can cause this such as a reflux, naseau medicine called metacloperimide to antipsychotics etc. Just have it checked ou. The worst the doc can say is I don't know. (In this institution we diagnose 2-3 male breast cancers every 6 months so it is not such a rarity anymore.)

Yikes....I wondered if there was much to be concerned about it. I mentioned it to the nurse when I made my appointment for all those other standard old person tests....hehehe..

I only noticed the blood once, from the left nip..well, this was a couple of days ago, so like I said, it could have been an inadvertant scratch or something. But I've definitely noticed the clear fluid (prolactin) from both nipples recently. . .I was just kinda freaked that I had to use a tissue to stop the mixture.

Gosh, bandaidwoman.....I didn't realize that cases of breast cancer in men are becoming that common....the worrisome thing is that the only supplements I use are multiple vitamins, protein shakes, some glutamine and glucosamine...nothing really geared toward real growth or anything. Hell, I don't even use creatine.

Hiya Flex....well, ya know it's the end of the semester, so I'm grading term papers...hehehe. Have you lined up a job yet for graduation?

Well, the good news is that the doctor didn't find anything unusual in the first examination....no lumps, nothing like that.

I had a blood test this morning, so they'll be checking for several things - cholesterol, diabetes, all that old person stuff that guys are more prone to run across in middle age.

I'm not looking forward to that....uh....colonoscopy exam ... but they promised I would be completely knocked out for that procedure.

I about freaked when they checked my weight - last summer, I was at 189 at 5' 9.5....this time I was 190. I must have looked a little agitated (I don't often check my weight)...the nurse looked at me sitting on the examination table and said "You are definitely NOT obese." Still, I don't want to get much bigger - I start another strength training class this summer, so maybe I'll alter my workouts to concentrate on fine tuning and learn some new movements.
