:twitch:

Hey all,

I kinda have a problem, I have a twitch in my left eye. I have had it since at least monday (four days ago). Its sparatic but consistant, and really pissin me off. I did a good amout of research to find there isnt much more than-

Hemifacial spasms are caused by an abnormally positioned artery or loop of an artery that compresses cranial nerve VII where it exits from the brain stem. Muscles on one side of the face twitch involuntarily, usually beginning with the eyelid and then spreading to the cheek and mouth. Twitching may be intermittent at first but may become almost continuous.

Well when I first started working out, I stopped doing trap work because of symetry, they were bigger then surounding area.

I just started to train them again last week (which felt great by the way) Now I dont know if that had something to do with it, but it is a very odd coinsidence.

I am going crazy...

It appears most eye twiches are harmless, involuntary spasms of the tiny muscles surrounding the eye. Some causes are fatigue, squinting a lot, consuming too much caffeine, or working in a less than ideal visual environment, e.g., staring at a computer screens for long periods of time. Just like a muscle spasm at any other part of the body, an eye twitch can mean you've taxed your muscles and need to relax them.
At home treatments that may help include hot baths, warm or cold compresses, rinsing your eyes out with warm water, or administrating eye drops.
However persistent, more violent eye twitches could be a symptom of other physical or psychological ailments, such as undue stress or temper tantrums, neurological damage, or even epilepsy.
A blepharospasm is the medical term for twitching that usually involves both eyelids and can result in embarrassing social episodes, most commonly attributed to stress. Some sufferers seek relief from the involuntary spasms with botox injections and anti-epileptic drugs that can relax the surrounding muscles.
The more serious hemifacial spasm can involve violent twitching that extends to the side of the face, and can affect speech and eating. This is usually a result of inflammed nerves and should be treated by an opthlamologist.
If your innocent eye twitching becomes more persistent, a trip to the eye doctor would be well advised.

I have dealt with many people (including myself) who have had this problem.....usually it is nothing to worry about.

I have found that supplementing with magnesium (250 mg/day)and calcium (1000mg/day)....seems to take care of 95% of them within a few days.

Certain stimulants (caffeine, ephedra, etc.), and medications (thyroid meds especially)...can cause them as well.....are you taking anything along these lines?

My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

When one door closes another door opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the ones which open for us.

You wouldn't happen to be taking one of those myostatin neutralizing products, would you? I tried taking Biotest's Myostat for a while, and one of my eyes started twitching! Once I stopped taking it, the twitching stopped.
