Hardasnails isn't quite so far off the mark as TropicalGirl would have you think. Pat and others who have linked your symptoms to IBS are remarkably astute. The discussion could be an eye opener for many here.

If Oak's phyisicans are so damned clever, they would have figured out his problem by now, eh? This issue is what we call a 'forest vs trees' problem.

Oak asks for help, we can oblige him with insight into the probable cause - which is an intriguing biochemical cascade. From there, he can decide if he wishes to pursue suggestions, simple ones, for managing this condition.

Its induced. And its correctable.

We have told him to go to other Doctors and like I said before...there are no MDs on here so we are here to stand behind him and pray that he gets better not tell him he has this or that and he should buy a zillion different vitamins and a zillion different supplements. Jesus did you REALLY read all of HAN's posts??? It never stops. Justin needs professional help not guesses from HAN just because he has something to. Please....enlighten us with what your professional opinion and amazing cure you are going to give to Justin. Shit, I think he has had enough crappy advice.

I think he needs love and support and not some know-it-alls who have the cure for him. Obviously after almost two years of HANS advice.....HE'S NOT ANY BETTER!!! I said this a long time ago, he needs to be put in a hospital and be tested for a lot of different things and get to the bottom of all of this mess. His Doctor just gives him crap that HAN advises and I think it's sad. This shouldn't be going on for so long. If I was sick for this long I would be demanding to stay in the hospital until I got some answers. Just my opinion.

There is conditioin known as over training sydrome which this may be an extreme case of which triggered a cascade of events which normal drs are not familar to dealing with us as athletes. When we push our bodys and mind to the limit and we are not properly supported with the essentail nutrients that we need or that we may be taken things to speed the removal of them what happens next is a body is consumped by its own toxins. What is basically is happeninig we are self intoxicating our self with out own metabolic waste on top of enviromental, emotional toxins. Over time our system is so over loaded that our body begins to burrow nutrients from other systems causing systematic break down. The human body is a system of negative feed back loops designed to maintain homostasis. When the body is so depleted it makes us extremely vulnerable to infections and other chronic diseases. This is a proven fact. Also linked to overtraiing sydrome due to oxidative over load and depletion of mineral is IBS which is basically a term used to refer to diagnoses that there is no cause to in the intestinal track which is linked to the brain gut theory. In reality is now being found out that it is more the gut leading to the disorientaion of the brain due to bacterial over growth toxins taxing an already exhausted cellular antioident system. This progress from a simple overtraining syndrome now to an almost completly exhausted cellular antioxident system. Now the real fun begins. When you think things can not get any worse, due to lack of proper nutrients to feel already depleted cells our cell membranes start to break down. Once you hit cellular breakdown you are opening your doors up to diseases such as MS, cancer, viral, diabetes, heart disease, heavy metal and envirmonetal intoxication. Then the cell membranes are compromised nutrients can not get into the cell and toxins can not get out. Over time the cell goes into suicide mode and before it dies it altered DNA is transfered through mitiosis to the new cells. The main antioxident in your body is gluthione and when that is exhuasted you are really up the creek. Again I hope I have shed some insight to what simple overtraining can do. Over training is stress to the body and if you have a preexisting hidden genetic factor it could be triggered (celiac, hashimotos, lyme, aids,depression, ect). We as athletes need to see what physiological and psychological affects over traing has on us. IBS is strongly associated with overtraning most likely do to magnesium, zinc, b-6 deficiency as well as many others. Before being stuck on paxil like most drs due I would highly look into spectrocell testing which will give you insight to what minerals you are lacking at cellular level. All one might need is a few more mgs of crucual minerals (the ones I stated before). There are numerous studies shown to show athletes mnerals before competition season and post season. REsults where startling even when minerals are taken by supplements. You may be taking supplements but is your body utlize them and are they being absorbed. The truth may SHOCK YOU..
