Naps

What is the optimum length for a "power nap?" I heard that if you nap for too long, hormones are released that will have a detrimental effect on your energy.

i dont care about the "scientific" crap, alls i know is i live and die by naps.

if you nap too long, it just takes you longer to "wake up". i find a good 30min-45min nap is good. unless i'm real tired, i take a 2hr banger.depends on your fatigue, man. just nap and enjoy...

You're a funny guy, Sully, I like you. Dat's why I'm going to kill you lahst.

No more than 30 minutes. If you sleep for a longer time your body gets in the mode of "heavy sleep" so when you awake in the middle of it you are more prone to fatigue and headache.

I take a whack and a nap every night when I get home from work. The whack takes about 30 seconds, the nap 30 minutes.

If sense were common, everyone would have it.

When I was in BUD/S pre-training 10-15 minutes was the maximum we were told to take. Anything after put you into a groggy state.

I think so. Once Manic mentioned something about passing through the equator line in board of a ship and a ceremony.

actually I heard its in incriments of 45 minutes, and sleeping is not going to give you a headache. I juts think it takes longer to wake up

I think naps are different for each person, I can do a 15-20 minute nap and bounce up like I had never been asleep with renewed energy, any longer and I am groggy as hell and feel dizzy. Some can lay down for an hour and jump right back into another 23 hours of full awakeness.
