7 muscle myths
I dont know if anyone has seen this. I found it on msn. just wondering what everyone thought. especially myth #2.

myth #2 got me confused though because some in this forum say they take 2 grams per bodyweight or more. and i knew pw shake is suppose to have carbs but 3x as much as protein?

when bulking/maintenance I might get 35-40% of my cals from protein but the lower my cals go when cutting the higher my protein intake becomes (to increase nitrogen retention) so I work my way up to 2 grams per lb of LBM then. Right now I might average 325 grams of protein a day and I weigh 250+ @ 11% right now so that's about 1.3 grams per lb of LBM. but all I do is weight train. a person who is envolved in competitive sports and resistance training and is trying to gain LBM would most likely have to go higher in protein 2 grams per lb of LBM (or non-fat) due to the increased rate of muscle protein turnover... |
