Are your ab cuts determined by your genes?
Reason I ask this... I have NO cut down the middle of my abs.. none/zilch/notta. I have the side ones and so it kind of looks like an elongated 3 pack.
A trainer once told me that my defect could be just the fact that my genes indicate my ab style... so am i stuck with them?
It's not a fat issue.. (i think)... I can't feel ANY cut down the middle beneath my skin... I'm down to around 10% BF, I have serratus fingers and the oblique cuts... but NO mid ab line... And I've been working abs 2 days a week and core 1 day a week for a couple years....
Thoughts? Am i destined to try to attain the worlds greatest 3 pack or does everyone have that cut and I just have a unique disposition to put the last of my fat there?
Thanks!![]()

"If you're not part of the solution, you're the precipitate."
the "cuts" in abs come from the shape of your abdominal tendons and fascia....they are the structures that form the squares in the six pack.....as your abs develop they grow in between these insertions and the six pack look appears if you are lean enough.
there is much variance from person to personin this....if the fascia is deep and well shaped you may have a perfect six pack that stays even if you get a bit heavy....like my girlfriend's abs that make me jealous.
You're middle, vertical sheath may not be deep or may be very broad making it hard to develop that look.....or maybe you just arent really lean enough, holding too much water, or just need to ad some weight to your ab work to grow the muscle a bit more.
i agree though....pics would help
My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.
