That's all true but you need a good diet to really make it work.Originally Posted by bigbullboy
Six years ago I started hitting the weights,I started in my basement on jack stands,a 10" plank 6'long on milk crates, and about 300#s of standard weights. I weighed 190#s 5'7" and was kind of strong. I had no experience lifting but i could easily bench 300,deadlift 300, I didn't squat because I hadn't the set-up. In a six month period, I bought an olympic set-up that consisted of 450#s of weights, a marcy monster bench, numerous Barbells and Dumbells and a squat pull-down tower also from marcy. I lifted every single day and kept a ratty journal of my progress. I was hooked. In a couple of years I could easily bench 400#s, Deadlift 400#s, and squat all the weights I had. I had massed impressively 22" bi's, 16" forearms, 58" chest. I hit my legs heavy also and massed to 33" quads with a pretty thick waist of 40"s(I don't slim down easily). But, I'm far from ripped. This was 2003-early 2004. It was time to hit the gym, I'd out-dated my basement work outs and had read extensive training and nutrition guides and wanted to test the lifting partner way of weight training plan. It worked and as of Friday March 4, 05 my lifts are 485#s for 3 and 505#s for a solid 1. My Deadlift is 675#s and I've squated over 660 more than once. My weight this morning was 265#s, I'm still 5' 7" with a 40" waist. My chest is thicker, thighs thicker, but everything else is the same. Not ripped, I try, 500 sit-ups every couple of days, some cardio (which I totally hate) and I eat what I believe is normal. I only lift heavy and I guess thats why my buddys tell me I have a power lifters build. But, I'll keep plugging along because I'm hooked. Thank's for letting me rave I'll post some more, My advise for gains, go heavy, don't get hurt, and time. BigBullBoy
