I just had surgery for my hernia on monday, and was wondering if anyone here had an inguinal hernia repaired? if so, how long until you were back at the gym?

How are you doing now? It took me exactly one month to go back to the gym. I did a lot of walking in the meantime though.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

It took me a full year for my pain to completely go away.

i would say a full year is abnormally long....there are many factors that contribute to this like how invasive the surgery was, how quickly you tend to heal, nutritional status, etc.

i would load up on vit A, zinc, vitamin C, fish oils, and keep the protein high...this regimine will ensure proper nutritional status for healing at optimal rates. Besides that...its up to your body and the skill of the Dr who did your surgery.
My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right.

When one door closes another door opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the ones which open for us.
