Question Need help interpreting my lab results (Blood test)

I went to the doctor last month and had a battery of tests done (white/red blood cells, hormones, and such). I had the girl at the office mail me a copy of my results, and a few things are highlighted as being out of range.

I'd like to know what they are and what it means to me, and how i can get them back to a normal range. I am having a hard time finding specific information on the web, and i think it' sbecuase i'm not sure what it is that I'm looking for.

I'd go back to the doctor but without insurance, I think even breathing air in her office is going to cost me thousands of dollars. I'm already $1300 in the hole becaues of that one visit.

The only thing I know for sure is that my estrogen levels are low. That was the extent of her explanation to me on the phone. She then prescribed some pills and told me to put on some body fat.

But I see a few things on here that concern me as well.

For example, eosinophils-absolute is listed as 0L, the reference range is 15-550 cells. I looked up info on this (and miraculously found something), and it says that this indicates the possibility that I have high cortisol levels.

I'd like to know what the other things on this sheet mean...

Soooo, if anyone on here is very familiar with CBCs and hormone lab results and could explain some of this stuff to me, I'd really appreciate it! Please PM or email me.

you should be able to phone your dr's office and have a nurse explain the results to you at no additional cost. on the way to one of my last blood tests it was hot i wasn't thinking n my son had a mt. dew. holy high sugar lol. but i signed a release when i had the retest done n then called the lab n they explained everything no charge.

good luck.

I'll have Craig look at this thread when he gets home.

ALSO, yeah i called the office originally, btu the girl who was talking with me about my results kept saying, "i'll have to ask the doctor about that , i'll have to ask the doctor about this..." so i feel like i might as well be talking to the DOCTOR directly since this girl can't give me straight answers to some of my questions.

I also think that this doctor is unwilling to explore alternative methods with me (be they dietary or homeopathic) other than putting me on a birth control pill and sending me on my way. She seems a little closed minded or just not interested. That sucked. She's a nice lady but i think that because i'm not her favorite kind of patient, she was just happy to be rid of me. She works mostly with pre/post and menopausal women. I went to her because she was recommended since I have some symptoms of pre/post menopause due to my amenorrhea. My client spoke with her and she said she would see me. Now i wish I'd blown my $220 on an office visit with someone else, maybe a gyno who deals more with female athletes or something...

Thankfully i get my medical insurance in a week or so. Then i can go find someone else to talk to.
