My grandpa only needs about 3 hours sleep because he exerts himself so little during the day.

You could try doing some intense exercise and see if that tires you out sufficiently.

what are you doing prior to bedtime? (no jokes topolo ) I mean the last few hours of the day.

Also, what are you eating and drinking during this time? Anything with sugar or caffeine in it? Have you changed anything lately? The time you get up, your diet, supplements? what time do you work-out?

what time are you going to bed?
what time are you waking up?
Are you drinking caffein/sugar drinks at night?
    Are you eating consistently?
    When do you workout?

You need to go to bed around the same time and wake up around the same time everyday. Your brain is like a clock. It tells you when to go to bed and when it's time to wake up.

For example, if you have been going to bed between 10-11pm every night, do so. Do not go to bed at 10pm one night, 2 am the next night, and then 9pm the next .. see where im going?

Also, when you wake up .. it varies. Don't get up earlier than usual or sleep longer than usual. It's ok to do that every so often but don't make it a habit. You should be getting about 8-9 hours of sleep.

Eat your meals every 3 hours. Have a planned schedule of what to eat, when to lift, and when to sleep. Drinking lots of milk before bed can help you fall asleep faster.

it really boils down to consitency, keeping your body on a schedule, when you divert from that it can screw up your sleep patterns.

I'm guessing that school has been out for the Holiday's, you're probably going to bed later, waking up later and not really taxing your mind during the day. Believe it or not mental stimulation can use a lot of energy, you have to exercise your brain too. Do a crossword puzzle or play a video game where strategy is needed. Do some heavy reading, you do have alot of reading up on proper form do that.

If you get a life and stop spamming IM all day you should become a little more exhausted. Also I will not have to read anymore of your stupid post.

Try meditation 20 -30 minutes before bed or 5 htp 100 mgs for 3 days if not add another 100 mgs. insomnia has alot to do with excessive adrenaline and low magneisium levels, elevated cortisol. As some one mentioned abnormal sleep patterns for a few days is enough to throw you off too. Plus holidays = extra sugar and and extra stress even though it may not appear to bother you subconsciously it can and will disturnb sleep patterns
What time are you finished working out ? if its too close to bed time try mving it back a few hours a bit.

Vigorous sex ending 45 seconds before you want to go to sleep is probably the best idea. At least rub one out if that isn't an option.
