if it is not getting better and the chiropractor is not helping I suggest an MRI, which is the only true way to know what is going on in your back.
Hi all,
About three weeks ago I was at one of the local junk yards getting ready to pull some parts off of an old Maverick for a car I'm re-doing. I twisted my body to slip in to one of the cars and felt a sharp pain in my lower back. I found it hard to walk afterwards due to the pain when I moved. I went home and put ice packs on my back to try to control the swelling. Anyway its been three weeks now and most of the pain is gone, but I am still leaning to the right and I don't have much movement to the rear. I can touch my toes and lean left and right with no problems but I don't have much movement rearward. I've been to the chiropractor, and my family physician, and now have been refered to a Physical Therapist. Has anybody else had this problem (leaning to one side"? How did you fix it? I'm just fed up with it all. I was making good gains towards my goals and then I get hurt and am down for 3 weeks. I'm only 28 years old so I feel this should have healed up alot faster.

I've been diagnosed with a bulging disk. My doctor said to try physical therapy and if I don't make any progress within a week he said we can opt for a steriod/cortizone shot in my back. I heard they hurt like hell, has anybody had one of these shots.

I just had 2 shots yesterday. One in the SI joint and one epidural they hurt bad not the needle but when the doc pushed the fluid in you feel it stinging as it comes out but just for that second or 2. I had to get multiple site injections so I got pumped with the meds 5 times in the SI joint area and once for the epidural so I got extra shots of pain, you might just need one shot in and out and be done. I luckily have 10mg hydrocodone tabs so I can't say if hurts afterwards, I do feel a little soreness and if I sit wrong it feels like a needle is poking at the injection sites. I do know that when I used to take the pain killers they only lasted 1 and a half to 2 hours now it seems to last 4+ hours for my original pain, I am walking faster and hopped out of bed no problem this morning.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
