It is do, and yes they do work but it is some nasty shit. You will be suprised what comes out of your ear. If you try it be careful that you don't burn yourself or your furniture. Also use a paper plate to catch the ash or it will get all over your house.

Ive tried it, stuck a wick in my ear, wasnt too bad but burnt the side of my head when the wick got low.........ha ha ha
