    Dipping ( Nicotine questions! )

I've been dipping for around 6 months now. It's a pretty common thing around here ( and in case you don't know that is it's smokeless tobacco you put in your lip etc ). With the exception of lip cancer, stomach ulsers(sp?), and gum disease ( the long term affects ) what can this do to affect my overall health? My brother ( MyCAT ) tells me it's basically just overall detoriation of my health ( but I haven't seen any negative affects other then the addiction which I know isn't good ). Trouble please offer an opinion ( not that it may matter )!

lip cancer, stomach ulsers(sp?), and gum disease
Isn't this enough to make you quit?

Nicotine downregulates dopamine and GABA,. and this has a detrimental cascade on mood, elelvates the probability of other addictions, can impair general health (immune system gets depressed and inflammation and exercise recovery made worse, can reduce anabolic and promote catabolic metabolism via liver dysfunction, shuts down some vitamin biosynthetic pathsways, promotes cortisol release, HPA over-excitor).

Ever seen an typical alcoholic? Skinny fat? Yup, thats what it helps induce, over time.

Counterintuitive for bodybuilders, despite the interest in using it as a "fat burning" supplement for energy. It backfires bad after about 3-6 months of use, and used long enough, appears to permanently alter some genes involved in metabolic regulation.

I'd drop it as a habit. Try chewing gum is you need a habit to qwell nerves. Sugarless gum, of course.

PS: most women find it to be a revolting habit.

I started chewing at 15, and quit dozens of times. Finally at 30 I quit for good.....then at 33 I thought I would have a just one dip.....big mistake...stop it now son, in a few more years you will not be able to stop.

I dipped in high school...all the baseball players did.

The negative aspects are written on the can.....isn't that reason enough not to do it?

Plus, chicks realy don't dig it when you are spitting into an empty sprite can all the time. If that doesn't make you stop then I don't know what will!

It makes me poop, definitely gives a bit of a rush, but I do it maybe once or twice a year. Every single woman I have met finds it to be a disgusting habit. I really didn't give a shit, then I saw a chick doing it and empathized. Don't see much reason to do it.

That made me laugh cause I'm spitting in one right now - how weird? But, I think I have the will power to quit, but not the want power? Oh well, thanks for the advice and information anyway Trouble.

Mycat should beat you within an inch of your life, thats what I did to my brother when I found him smoking at 15.

You want a real rush order some betelnut online and when it gets to you you'll think dipping tobacco is a complete waste of time and money.

Haha, MyCAT couldn't beat me up if he wanted too. He knows better then to fuck with me. It usually ends in him crying.
